| What motivates you to come into work each day?
I like the fact that we help people express the best of themselves. Someone on one of our programmes said the other day ‘No-one’s ever asked me who I am before it’s always about what I do’. It’s extremely satisfying when people express who they are, especially at work.
What’s the problem with 21st century companies?
Too much talking, not enough listening. Too much compliance, not enough commitment. Too much tick box, not enough heart!
What are you most proud of?
I’m very proud of the fact that as a company we have a really good go at living our values with each other, with our clients, with our partners. It always shows up when we don’t and never fails to come back and bite us on the rear!
Biggest mistake?
I agree with all the other three directors! Like Melvyn I’ve made a very bad public speech; I too was involved in taking my eye off the ball and jeopardising the survival of the company; and I totally agree with my husband we should have got together sooner.
Consultancy cliché
Jargon. Consultants are meant to make their clients’ lives easier, not more complicated or difficult!
How did you end up doing this?
It’s always been about this for me, one way or another - I want people (and me!) to experience more love, connection, meaning and significance. Minerva is a brilliant vehicle!
Any other business?
I used to be a youth worker, travelling around hospitals, adventure playgrounds, youth projects which I really enjoyed. Also, I occasionally get the urge to go into politics.
